I have to say with just two weeks to go, some of the little things are getting to me. I went to Five Guys today with my mom and sister and while they had some fantastic smelling burgers, I had to make do with my Saladworks salad and soup. Oh, and a whole wheat roll and some water, my tastebuds could hardly handle the excitement. I was also informed that this weekend, when I visit Duke, my old rugby team has a match against a very weak Guilford team. I played there for two years and really miss it. Lee, my other half at Duke, informed me that I would be able to play for sure when I came down. Much to my dismay, I had to say no because I can't risk injury this close to the tryout. I can't tell you how much this frustrates me because I really miss the competition and the entire sport. These are the moments when my conviction to training is truly tested.
On a good note, I was able to return to running today after a two week hiatus. Eric had me running starts and light sprints out on the soccer field. We didn't push it at all and just had me exploding out of the starts and then cruising the rest of the way. We also did more speed ladder work and I ran a few sets of stadiums. Stadium runs consist of me running up and down the bleachers on the side of the soccer field. We finished the workout with 40 YARDS of Death Planks, then 30 sprinter sit-ups, a minute of bicycle crunches, and then 200 varied crunches. It was brutal but it felt good to get a good burn going. I will be doing some cardio later tonight and then tomorrow I'm looking to get a really good run in with the nice weather along with a really good lift in.
Lastly, I really recommend checking out the comments in the past posts. They're pretty funny and might give you a few ideas for your own posts. Don't feel pressure to be funny, any and all posts are appreciated, humor or not. In fact, most of the time, JoshO really isn't that funny but we feel bad because he thinks he is. BA-ZING! But, seriously, keep 'em coming JO.

"Ba-zing", indeed. One quick question: Benny, do your jokes come in men's sizes?
In fairness to our Olympic hopeful (nay, shoe-in), he does know a good joke when he hears it.
Or does he?
Up until recently, Mr. Lieb has laboured under the impression that "He Got Game" (directed by Spike Lee) was a full-on serious motion picture. What he neglected to note was ANYthing that Spike Lee directs is an absolute timebomb of Unintentional Comedy waiting to explode in a Jihad against Quality Cinema.
In this case, "He Got Game" is so laugh-out-loud ("lol") and over-the-top ("ott") ridiculous that any attempt to take it seriously should come with an immediate appointment at the head doctor.
Let's break it down for the kids:
1. Ray Allen (as Jesus Shuttlesworth) is so overwhelmed with his limited acting capacity that he practically uses The Nervous Voice for the entire motion picture, never deviating from his monotone delivery save for the delicious moments that his voice cracks exactly like Mike McGill in a Johnson City High School Lacrosse practice (amount of people who get that reference: zero and holding fast).
2. Denzel Washington (as Jake Shuttlesworth) masterfully playing the only character in his arsenal ...that of "Denzel Washington". Every line that comes out of his mouth during the one hour and thirty-three minutes is a laugh riot with no police presence.
3. More contrived dialogue than any episode of "Sex in the City". (There's no joke there.)
4. John Turturro OBVIOUSLY owing Spike Lee a favour by his inclusion in this trainwreck. (PS. Turturro's sister is an insufferable cow).
5. The ONLY redeeming quality of this film is the drinking game that one could conceivably play whilst watching it. Note: I've never had a sip of any adult-style beverage (I'm nervous about the bubbles), but you may want to try it for yourself during a rainy night. Have a sip of The Juice of the Barley every time that someone utters the word "Jesus" through out the film, and I guarantee you'll be drunk dialing your ex by the 47 minute mark. Note: She won't be pleased to hear from you.
And that's all I have to say about that.
In other news, Banta did a sit-up.
anonymous strikes again...how about some more posts were getting into crunch time...too much fun going on to get the gold! its go time
I am glad that Mom and I got mentioned in your blog! Those were some delicious burgers we ate the other night... too bad you couldn't have any! Mom had a pecan waffle and I had a cinnamon apple & cheese omelet for breakfast this morning. Yum-o! I think I'm eating enough for both of us here; I might have to join Overeaters Anonymous when I return to PA on Monday. Remind me to do that. Hope you're enjoying some rugby in NC right now.
